I installed ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat and no gnome around so i did "sudo apt-get ubuntu-desktop" but the first time it only download packages and went black screen and after reboot no gnome yet! So i repeat "sudo apt-get ubuntu-desktop" and then it installed packages and after reboot ubuntu start directly into gnome. I hope this help others.:)

By default it should have quotation marks with nothing in between.
